New series of events on solutions for Alfresco for a use in business

    [13.06.2012]

How to work with business documents in a simple and efficient way: that is the main topic of the first of a series of events on “Pragmatic Solutions for the Open Source ECM Alfresco in Business Use”. The series is initiated by suppliers of the ecm Market, marketplace for Alfresco solutions, and averi Training, Alfresco's official training partner. The first event will take place in Stuttgart on July 3rd 2012. Various companies will present installable, mature solutions that can be implemented and used immediately – irrespective of whether Alfresco Enterprise or the Community version is in use. Each of the introduced solutions can be obtained via the ecm Market, including support and updates. The event in Stuttgart will focus in particular on the scanning of documents and their automatic transfer (including metadata) to Alfresco, the automatic and non-redundant filing of business documents as well as on e-mail management with Outlook integration or other e-mail clients with browser preview. The event is free of costs and is scheduled for 15:00 to 18:00. Subsequently, the attending experts will be glad to discuss these and other Alfresco topics with you. Since the number of places is limited, we recommend to register as soon as possible. Please write to events@ecm-market.de.

    New e-mail solution for Alfresco

    [30.05.2012]

ecm4u has developed a new e-mail solution for Alfresco that prepares the recent version of the Open Source ECM platform for a company-wide management of electronic messages. Both e-mails and attachments can be previewed directly in Alfresco with „ecm4u Email for Share“ without involving an email-client. The extension optimises the search for e-mails and attachments and therefore allows for an efficient handling of large data pools. As the solution is offered in the form of an installable module, “ecm4u Email for Share” is ready-to-use and does not require additional programming. “With the implemented preview and search functions, it now makes sense to file your e-mails and attachments in the context of other documents or project-sites. Everyone is finally able to read and search for e-mails in Alfresco – even years from now, when the original e-mail client is outdated”, says Lothar Märkle, CTO of ecm4u. „We know from our experience with companies that use Alfresco that they have been missing this feature to date”. „ecm4u Email for Share” is available in the ecm Market, the marketplace for Alfresco solutions (www.ecm-market.de).

    ecm Market is open!

    [05.04.2012]

From today the ecm Market, a platform on which software houses and developers can offer their solutions to enterprises, is online. The marketplace is designed as contact point that – for the first time - gives enterprises the opportunity to get information on, and purchase, reliable solutions for the Open Source-ECM Alfresco at an independent place. The “ecm Market” provides the necessary infrastructure for a secure purchase processing with buyer protection across boarders. In addition, the platform intends to create more transparency in a market that has so far been unclear for enterprises looking for Alfresco-solutions. This is accomplished by providing a review system and clear-cut prices. All commercial products are offered including support. “So far, enterprises that have planed to extend or adapt their Alfresco-ECM according to their needs only had the possibility to commission a project or to come across an appropriate solution by chance”, says Heiko Robert, CEO of ecm4u GmbH, the operators of ecm Market. “The ecm Market offers a new and attractive opportunity: now enterprises can easily compare free and commercial solutions and obtain a product including support within a short time and with transparent conditions.” Apart from extending their existing offers, the operators plan to integrate service-offers on their platform in the near future.
